LIAM
NEE

Digital Producer

Hello! My name's Liam Nee and I'm a dependable and adaptable go-getter from small-town Maine, motivated by a relentless desire to learn and achieve and offering eight robust and demanding years in digital media – from editorial, creative and production to research, analysis and strategy.

My passions and interests include the Olympics, film, music, news, history, data, cooking, poli-sci, the Patriots, the Red Sox, running and wildlife. I have a twin brother and an older sister, both of whom I look up to with great respect, and enjoy boastfully promoting the Pine Tree State wherever I go.

Most recently, I was a Digital Editorial Producer for NBC Olympics at NBC Sports' headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, focusing primarily on creating, publishing and managing content across NBCOlympics.com, Peacock, the NBC Sports app, NBCSports.com and NBC's 200-plus local TV affiliates in the lead up to and during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic/Paralympic Games, held in 2021, and 2022 Beijing Olympic/Paralympic Winter Games.

Through hundreds of hours of research and analysis, I became an expert in the following 14 sports for which I provided both feature and breaking news coverage: track and field, cycling, rowing, snowboarding, freestyle skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon, canoe/kayak, sailing, triathlon, modern pentathlon, handball, badminton and volleyball.

In total, I maintained 14 front-end pages, authored 200-plus bylines sent to Apple News, helped construct more than 500 live streams and published about 1,200 short-form videos. Due to the Games' vast sum of athletes and events, the role also consisted of product QA/QC and metadata work.

During a nine-month furlough from May 2020 to February 2021 – caused by COVID-19 and the historic 2020 Games postponement – I revived a passion for running that had practically vanished since my collegiate days of track and field, began reading more frequently and advanced my cooking skills.

Previously, I was a Digital Content Producer at NEWS CENTER Maine (WCSH/WLBZ) in Portland, Maine, an NBC affiliate, specializing in breaking news, special projects, live streaming, trend analysis and social graphics.

From early 2016 to late 2019, I covered for NCM many of the state and region's biggest stories, including notable crimes, major political events, epic sports title runs and numerous offbeat, human-interest features.

Prior to NBC Sports and NCM, among other roles, I was a Dual Intern at PBS Frontline in Boston, a four-year Head Counselor at Dirigo Boys State and Social Media Manager for UMaine's Track & Field and Cross Country teams.

I'm a 2014 alumnus of the University of Maine, where I double-majored in Journalism and Political Science and ran Division I track and field.

As a Black Bear, I walked on to the track team and left the school as the seventh-fastest all-time at 800 meters; published 150-plus articles over four years as Assistant News Editor and Social Media Editor of The Maine Campus, the student-operated newspaper; and hosted and produced more than 125 radio episodes through five shows over four years on student-run WMEB-FM 91.9. I was a four-time Scholar-Athlete, Lambda Pi Eta member and recipient of the 2013-14 Maine Print Association Scholarship.
